Both 100- and 200-level courses are suitable for graduate students. These courses are focused on the fundamentals of chemical engineering. More specialized research-oriented course work is replaced at Caltech by informal seminars in almost all of the currently active areas of research.

In addition to the chemical engineering courses listed below, students are encouraged to take courses in other disciplines such as chemistry, applied mathematics, applied physics, biology, environmental engineering science, etc., depending on the interests of the individual student.

Information regarding the PhD program, teaching assignment duties, and examination procedures are available in our guide to the "Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering." Please open for viewing or printing the Acrobat PDF (369KB) file.
