My research focus is on developing instrumentation to classify aerosol particles by size and to detect their refractive index. Currently, I’m working on a Differential Mobility Analyzer to use on a small airplane to take ambient measurements in the Los Angeles basin. In the future, I will adapt a light-scattering detector to measure the real part of the refractive index of aerosol particles of known size.
